What is OKIDO YOGA?
Okido Yoga is a holistic, dynamic and meditative form of yoga developed by the Japanese master Masahiro Oki. His teachings bring together his deep understanding of the human body and mind through his wide study and experience of both western and eastern religious, philosophical and medical traditions. The physical aspect of the yoga practice is designed to benefit people within the context of modern daily life.
As well as modified versions of classical asanas it includes corrective exercises to address physical distortions, and strengthening exercises to encourage a strong 'hara' (centre of gravity) which all work to deepen our connection with our whole being, our Life Force.
Class content will vary from week to week but will typically begin with a warm-up and lead-up to asana practice emphasising the importance of co-ordinating awareness, movement and breath at all times.
Partner and group exercises may be included. Classes always end with a relaxation.

Massages all organs of the body.
Improves circulation and lubrication to the joints.

Balances mind, body and emotions.
Junko has been teaching Okido Yoga since 2011 after experiencing its benefits through a period of ill health and completing a 4-year training.
Her aim as a teacher is the same as her aim as a holistic health therapist: to support people in feeling their best, at one with themselves and flowing with Life.

What is HATHA YOGA?
Hatha Yoga is a beautiful and ancient tradition incorporating physical postures, breathing control, stretching, strengthening and restorative techniques to bring peace and calm to the body and mind.
Joanne’s class combine meditative elements with psychology, using her experience as a life coach and Reiki Master to bring healing and insight to what we do on and off the mat. She is also training as a yoga therapist to ensure that her yoga practice can offer the most therapeutic benefit to her students.
Whether you want to become more flexible, keep your bones strong, sleep better, enjoy more tranquillity, or have more energy, yoga can help. A typical class structure is: relaxation, asana (posture work), restorative practice and breath work, relaxation.
The exact content changes week by week depending on the energy in the class that week.
Joanne has been teaching Hatha Yoga since 2009 and her passion is to help people live lives of joy and wellbeing.
