Program 1 – p. 217 (takes 1 hour or less)
Quick Start Energy Booster

If you ever had a day when meetings piled high and fatique or distraction accompanied the pileup, then this is your magic wand. You have as short time and need to be able to spring to the goal. Do this when you need to shake your body and mind out of a low-energy slumbler. You want to be ready to act, focus, and take on a challenge. The exercises in the awakener give you immediate potency and activage an instinct to excel. Strong nerves and a good sexual energy are other benefits. The Hawk Breathwalk in this program builds your readiness for action, mental or physical, with increased confidence, optimism, and motivation. Many peiople in business or the performance arts use this Breathwalk to prepare for a presentation.

Program 2 – p. 218 (takes 1 hour or less)
Rejuvenate Your Energy Reserves

Many times we need to apply our attention and energy to a task steadily for a long time, until it is done. If our basic reserves of energy are sufficient, we can stay the course and keep a sense of clarity and purpose about what we do. Many parents say they feel as though they dash here and there, cover one fire after another, but lose track of what they intended to do and become irritable. This program builds energy reserves and makes your mind steady. It takes pressure off your back and makes your spine more flexible. As you increase your number and length of vitality intervals, feelings of irritation, pessimism, and scatteredness move towards calmness, openness, and clarity.

"The breathwalk that I experienced under the guidance of Sandra had a tremendously good effect on me, it left me rejuvenated and decluttered. It is the best combination of conscious breathing and walking, meditating and kundalini yoga. All this done in a nice park with fresh air and surrounded by nature increased my energy levels and elevated my mood. It does not just revitalize the body and the mind but is also a great exercise! I highly recommend it!" Danny

Program 3 – p. 220
Gather Your Distributed Energy (Letting go, mental balance)

Sandra’s comments: "I was shown the energy that needed to be transformed with this breathwalk: I had too many things going and my mind was going in many directions all at once. I did have energy but it was all scattered, could not stop thinking, planning, organizing….I needed to let go of it all and focus on myself, feel myself, tune into myself until mental balance was restored and I could once again direct my energy as ONE powerful wave towards my goals with a focused and directed mind."

Books says:
We are prepared to move one way and the opposite way at the same time. Emotionally we are equally ready to trust someone and run away. This program released stuck energies in your body and emotions. It replaces sadness with an inner strength and a feeling of confident contentment. This program builds your energy like a rising tide until you are ready to apply it with easy steadiness.

"I really enjoyed our walk and especially the mental exercise. It seemed to me nearly impossible to combine the breath and counting with paces but when I finally mastered it I felt really deep rhythm and was taken away from all thoughts running always through my mind. I didn't want to leave and could just walk and walk and listen to the drum of my steps. An interesting experience, looking forward to try the exercise by myself and hopefully achieve the same result. I will take more loose clothes next time as it was difficult to move for me during the pre-exercise." Katerina

"I'd heard so much about Breathwalks from various sources and was always curious to know more about it. I didn't realise how effective it was going to be. Once we started the simple warm up exercises I felt immediately calm and relaxed inside despite standing outside on wet grass! A walk is always relaxing but this kind of walk was different as there was so many things to focus on internally and once I stopped I realised I had blocked out all the rubbish and felt more relaxed and clearer. By the time I got home I felt tired but within an hour or two I found so much energy I was getting all the things that I needed to do done. I'm so glad I did it." Morella

"I loved this walk and i found it easier than the first one we did for some reason. I got in the zone very quickly and i could feel the trees vibrating straight away after the first breathing we did. it's just so nice to be in nature as well and breathe the fresh air!" Giuseppina

Program 4 – p. 221
Simple Anxiety to Inner Calm

Anxiety is familiar. It comes in little ways, scratching at the edge of our awareness like kittens’ claws. Occasionally it builds to a huge wave and commands our attention like a lion’s roar – a full-fledged panic attack. Most of us fall between these two extremes and have moments of anxiety that do not paralyze us. They are like inner noise. They take away from our clear focus.
It is just like trying to give a speech when a critical friend comes in the back to watch. We can become so nervous about being watched that we lose track of our words. Or think how many people can shoot a basketball through the hoop easily on their own, then miss it as people stand around to watch. This is social anxiety. It is common in over 85 percent of us.
We can find the inner calm at the centre of the anxiety. Then, even if we feel some nervousness, it doesn’t bother us, and we can find that flow and natural expressiveness that comes when we are in charge and doing well.

Amy's comments:
"Overall experience: Calming & relaxing, extremely grounding – within minutes I felt grounded and this deepened during the breathwalk, my mental chatter reduced and I felt a deep sense of peace inside, helped me be in the present moment rather than worry about work/the past/future
Techniques used: some yoga exercises to start and end and a brief meditation to finish, breathing techniques which I will be able to use again whilst doing a walking meditation/walking outside, breathing combined with a (silent) chant really helped retain the focus and let go of distractions
Sandra’s skill: Sandra was very skilled at showing me how to do the breathwalk, kind and patient, very dedicated and professional, I felt immediately at ease and taken care of throughout the session.
Tips: I had come from work in a hurry and was unprepared – it’s April and we had an early evening session and it got quite cold. Wrap up warm and wear flat comfortable shoes!, I didn’t really know what to expect but it was a very useful session and I would like to have more in the future. Thanks again Sandra
"

Program 5 – p. 222
From Depression to Clear and Connected

Even if we are normally on an even keel, we can still suffer a transient depression. Depressions can come and go, and they can sometimes teach us important things about ourselves. However, when they stay too long and we do not understand why, our energy level plummers and we feel disconnected from the things that matter to us. Our relationships are often first to suffer. We feel isolated and alone no matter how many people we care for or who care about us. We can lose motivation as our ability to imagine a future collapses. Instead we are filled with inner talk that negates us, criticizes our efforts, or tells us how we are not worthy. We need a strong connection to our future, our dreams, and our destiny. The ability to switch out of this mood is essential. Staying depressed is harmful to our health and can block the expression of our spirit. This Breathwalk program has helped thousands of pepole alleviate depression, learn what they need to know from it, and select feelings that give them the emotional resources they need.

Uzma's comment after the breathwalk:

“Really good experience, walking in the park and feeling close to nature, learnt to be close to my inner self and soul. It's good in every day stressful life to be able to calm yourself. I recommend the breathwalk experience to everyone. After the walk I felt full of energy and its effects lasted for days."

Program 6 – p. 224 (takes 1 1/2 hours)
From Distracted, Busy, and Hyperactive to Receptive and Intimate
Faxes, phone calls, e-mails, ads, letters, drop-ins, to-do lists, and everything else can make us feel as though we are walking through a swarm of pesky bugs. No matter how beautiful it is on our walk, it is hard to stay in a good mood and appreciate what we are doing. Real pleasure comes when we can be relaxed and present rather than distracted. The best meeting is when we can become receptive and put aside the jumpy, put-out-the-fire mode we were in before th meeting. If we can switch this mood quickly and easily, we can communicate better, connect to other people, and form better teams.

Sandra's comments: I felt that a lot of time consuming jobs were effecting my mood. The amount of them was significant. It felt otherwise peaceful in my life, nothing upsetting was happening but all the jobs seemed to put like a blanket on my happiness. I thought that there must be a breathwalk for this and I opened to book on exactly this page for this breathwalk! Heaven is training me up to get to know breathwalk...wonderful!

Giuseppina's comments:
"I really liked the breath walk. I think we forget how good it is to just be outside and breathe! I felt the effect of the initial breathings, everything seemed clear and bright and more defined. I think doing the breathing outside is very powerful since you get the connection a lot quicker! Also I was surprised at how calm and accepting I was from the start. When you asked me to feel the pulse and be with it, I just did it, but normally the pulse makes me feel uneasy! When we started the walk I felt very centered, it was easy to stay with it, there was very little mental chatter. I don't think I even needed the finger exercise to disconnect from the chatter and normally I would have found that a bit frustrating but again I just went with it and finally it came natural with the breath and the movement. I think I would have preferred to be able to go whereIi wanted, to choose the paths, I did not like when we turned around altogether (we were walking on the river and all of a sudden you said to turn around). I liked the ending a lot. Sitting and just watching the walk playing out in your mind with different perspectives I thought it was very useful. I would definately like to try other walks."

Program 7 – p. 225   (very good one, easy to do)
From Doubtful and Lethargic to Motivated and Ready
If we succumb to doubt and hesitate as we wait for something "out there" to rescue or entertain us, we are in fact the source of the doubt, lethargy, and their attendant problems We need to get motivated, get focused, and take a leap forward. At such times we can call upon our inner resources and create change both inside and outside. We have a core of joy. We need to shake off any dullness and let it through. This program cuts to that core and give you the power to move ahead with confidence.

Sandra’s comments: "I walked this program when I was in Germany with my parents, I had a strong cold, felt like just lying around with utter boredom - a lethargic feeling, I just could not motivate myself. After only one breathwalk my joy for new projects returned and I was motivated!"

Vibeke’s comments:
"Our breath walk started with a series of preliminary exercises that made me feel warm all over and ready. The walk I believe is designed to stop the mind from “wandering” and to bring about the silent awareness that lies in all of us. During the walk I felt very close to nature and at the same time I became aware of the inner workings of my body.
Sandra was gently guiding me all the way through with steps by step instructions to prevent my mind going in to a day dream. By the end of this walk - the individual sounds, smells and sights became quietly magnified and the bright colours of the autumn shone in all their glory. I can recommend this experience for anyone of you who needs to get out of their head and connect with nature and the here and now. Thank you Sandra for this glorious experience." Vibeke

Program 8 – p. 226
Mental Clarity

Mental clarity in this program comes from a blend of alertness, profound calmness, and vivid awareness in the present. We open the lungs and stimulate the circulation. Then, the Eagle Breathwalk adds alertness and a positive mood. We switch to a Tiger Breathwalk pattern for strength, calmness and the ability to drop any anxiety or distractions. Any time you need a sense of openness, wide peripheral vision, and enhanced sensitivity to see a situation lucidly (clearly), do this program.

Karen's comments after the breathwalk later on in the day:
"I must say my energy levels have been good! I found the breathwalk altogether energising and balancing. A lot of the time I feel tired with little stamina, but today I was much better. Of course the weather helped, but I think it's an excellent idea to do the techniques you showed me in a park - even if the weather isn't great; though strong winds and rain might interfere too much!
A big thing that appealed to me was the fact that the breathing and movements were easy - I like the ethos of yoga very much, but find most classes problematic for my knees and back, which can't take much stretching or load-bearing positions. I also enjoyed the 1 to 1 relationship as I felt free to breathe and walk at my own pace. But I think I could handle a group of say 2 or 3 after a bit of practice!
I found the mantras very helpful for focussing my butterfly mind, and it was good for my memory to have to mentally retrace my walk...it made me realise how much I didn't notice around me! At first I felt a bit hesitant about handing over my watch, but our initial discussion re timings etc was helpful and so I found I was able to go with it...and it was great to walk along without watch, purse or bag....this isn't usual for me but I now feel encouraged to walk occasionally by myself, and leave these potentially stressful items at home! If I'm honest, I think I would struggle if the exercise was any longer...I don't know if I just lack stamina or have simply been conditioned by years of hour- long activities. Maybe if I did this regularly I'd develop my concentration to be able to handle a longer duration. I think if you did this as a group activity, we would need you to speak up - perhaps it's my hearing but it was difficult at times to understand you - though maybe this is just me!" Love"

Program 9
Intuition
We can all use a little intuition. Intuition lets us recognize things that we know but are outside of our normal awareness. It lets us apply our wisdom and years of experience in a new situation. We pick up on the little cues that signal danger and can keep us safe. Mostly we think of things in terms of stereotype of broad categories instead of setting them directly, as they are. The ability to see something on its own terms and use its uniqueness is also intuition. Intuition – to know what is coming, to be prepared.

"The breath walk was a new experience for me so was not sure what to expect but as usual Sandra displayed her outstanding expertise and guided me through the breath walk. A very enjoyable experience and one I would like to do regularly. The meditation techniques are extremely effective and gives a calming and tranquil sensation. Throughout the walk. Walking in nature whilst focusing on the techniques Sandra teaches is a very unique and special feeling. I really enjoyed the visualisation aspect of the breath walk. Thank you Sandra for a great breath walk." Paula

Breathwalk 10 (little advanced breathing)
Focus
A well-known therapist estimated that 40 percent of our normal neuroses and worry would go away if we learned how to focus. Our mind catches us in the grips of fear, sadness and anxiety by fixating its focus too close to or too far from something. When we Breathwalk and we switch our focus from the vitality intervals to the balance step, we train our focus capacity and drop many mind-sets that keep us captive. We induce a new openness with a shift of focus. How many times have you had a problem that seemed like a mountain? Then one more piece of information or an idea and suddenly it is just a little problem, a molehill, in a much larger landscape. This program gives the focus to you instead of to your problems or to your mind’s fantasies.

Ritu's comments (she felt challenged):
"The Breathwalk was harder than I expected it to be. it involved physical endurance as well as great concentration. But during it, I found that having to concentrate on walking and the breathing and mantras, means you do not have time to think about anything else. The exercises of being focused inwards to outwards is something I have done in meditation before and an extremely useful exercise for becoming more aware of yourself and your surroundings.
The exercise to retrace your steps like a movie was also very hard, and I think doing it as many times as we did made it lose it's value as by the end I could remember very little. After the Breathwalk, I found myself feeling very uneasy. I put it down to being tired and achy still from the Monday yoga, but it was inside I was feeling uneasy. The walk had brought out something I needed to deal with. At first I couldn't work out what it was, I started the walk in a happy, relaxed place but after I didn't feel any of that, and I was annoyed that I had done the walk at all, as I had suddenly lost my sense of peace.

However, I stayed with the feelings of uneasyness, as it was my body's way of telling me that I needed to deal with something. Eventually I think I figured out what it was. I cried, and let myself just be in that moment. I felt quite miserable for the day on and off. Which was very hard indeed. But it also made me realise that things will come up, even quite unexpectedly, and I will need mechanisms to deal with them and more importantly, just be in them too. I think the Breathwalk bought out something that was deep inside. Another way to peel the layers of that onion so to speak. It bought it quickly to the surface, because during the walk, I was uncomfortable. I will try the breathwalk again, and I hope I have a more positive, happier feeling with it next time, but It will most likely bring up what needs to be brought up. That I know, is just how it is to listen to really listen oneself. Hugs & Love"

Program 11 – p. 230   (improve moods)
Learn and Create

The manager of a computer product division told us “Everything I learned five years ago is either obsolete or changed completely by new things that have been added. To stay on top of my job, not even to get ahead, it’s like a go to school every day and I still have homework to do when I go home.” In this age of learning, speed and continuous retraining is the rule. It is as true for the secretary as for the engineer, for the therapist as for the minister, and for the tradesman as for the politician. To move ahead, we need to be create as well as to learn.
Fortunately we now know the brain keeps learning and can be creative through our life span as long as we stimulate it and keep using it. The exercises of Breathwalk are ideal for getting the brain in shape to take on this new age of information with a smile.

Sandra’s comments: I used it when I had a few unresolved pending issues that seemed to have an impact on my mood – not even very important unresolved issues, just niggling ones. The breathwalk done just once really improved my mood to deal with these things and stay with it – with a smile!

Marnie's comments:
"Thank You Sandra, for introducing me to this new technique of self nurturing. Breath walk takes Kundalini yoga to another level from what I have experienced, were you are using breathe technique with full flowing action of the walking body. Through the breath & visualisation & inward concentration the walk started with my recognising tension in shoulder which I wasn't conscious of, along with irregular alignment which through the relaxation & focus on breath, dissipated setting me in a steady focused pace & enveloped my body & mind into an effortless, floating walk through to the end. On finishing the session 'Learn & Create' I was left with a deep feeling of calm, focus less on internal resistance of the mind and an opening of possibility & control of ones own destiny. Really looking forward to next time! Sat Nam"

Program 12 – p. 231 (takes around 1 hour)
Rapport

Two young lovers were sitting on a park bench. A vendor passed by, selling ice cream and balloons. It was amazing to watch them select two kinds of ice cream and several balloons, including one shaped to look like a bird, without uttering a word. It was a nod here, a wink three, accented with a shrug, a touch, and a kiss. They were in rapport.
People who watched only smiled and often gave a quick affirmative squeeze of the hand to their partners. Rapport means instant communication, a trust and emotional affinity that makes words too slow.
When we are in rapport the world seems close and cozy. We feel understood. We break that rapport with inner distrust and anxiety. If we create it within ourselves, we can easily open and extend it to others. It is the primary glue in our feelings of connectedness and the healing that those feelings bring.

Sandra's comments: "There is a smooth feeling in your energy body after the walk, like silk."

Sukhi's comments:
"I felt the breathwalk was a meditative experience and I felt quite soothed and smooth afterwards. I felt quite connected and centred too."

Program 13 – p. 233 – do other breathwalks first, advanced breathing Lion
Consistency

This program is a simple way to feel an emotional and spiritual continuity between one moment and the next and between all your inner parts. It is normal to split ourselves into many functional parts. It is not normal for all of them to conflict and result in inconsistent and inconsiderate behaviours and impulses. This Breathwalk consolidates you more and more as you increase the times and numbers of intervals. When we become consistant to ourselves, we can speak truth easily and create trust that holds relationships together.

Patricia's comments:
"I really enjoyed the whole time we spent doing the breathwalk and felt very looked after throughout it. As we did the breathwalk I felt extremelly aware of both what was going on in my surroundings and also of what was going on within. By the end of it I felt very calm, energized, alert and refreshed and this feeling stayed with me for the next few days. I also really appreciated you sending me the details of the walk so that I can do it on my own. Thank you very much for the experience Love and Light"

Program 14 – p. 234 (1h 15 min max), advanced breath pattern, fun, 1 h 15 min
Integrity

Integrity calls on courage and on recognition of what is important to us. It calls on our character and sense of value. By acknowledging what is of true importance, we can treat everything that arises from within and without in the appropriate manner. We have an integrity that forges an identity. If we recognize and act on our own identity, we can recognize the identity and value of others. We can begin to uncover some of the simple truths and secrets of nature as well. This program can help you increase the awareness of your integrity and your capacity to hold to doing what is most important.

Sandra's comments:
"I walked this program when I was in Germany with my parents, I had a strong cold, felt like just lying around with utter boredom - a lethargic feeling, I just could not motivate myself. After only one breathwalk my joy for new projects returned and I was motivated!"

John's comments:
"Thought the breath walk was amazing. From tuning in to the end of walk was so positive for me. Would not be outrageous to say that I really felt that I was completely connected to everything around me. The trees, grass all the people in fact the whole natural world. Big claims but absolutely true. Would truly recommend to anybody who is serious about connecting with the One true source. I am now putting into practice what I learnt and am getting wonderful results. Fantastic. Kindest blessings."

Program 15 – p. 235
Emotional Presence

This program opens your heart and helps you drop unnecessary defensiveness. It calms you and even helps to detoxify your body so you can relax and become present. A woman was attending an annual gala party. She stood near a window, tapping one foot and moving her hands nervously on a railing. I asked: ”Where are you?” Momentarily startled, she said, “I was all over. My mind was at last year’s party, when my husband was alive. Then I was at the marathon I am going to run in a few weeks. And I was full of other thoughts.” We both chuckled. She became present and then walked away from the window with us to enjoy the gala. That is the secret. We stay emotionally absent by letting the past be in the present and running from the present into the future or into our fantasies. That is why it is so central a practice in many spiritual traditions to become present in the here and now. When we are in the present we can express ourselves and connect with our life in a satisfying and rich manner. A big part of being present is simply letting go. This Breathwalk program helps your mind and body detoxify and eliminate ill thoughts and feelings so you can open to the present with emotional vigour.

Program 16 – p. 236
Spiritual Abundance

IOne of the first sensations that comes with an elevated spirit is teh feeling of abundance. When we are disconnected from spirit it is easy to live in scarcity. Then our minds fill with fears and block our opportunities.
Abundance is when you are supported and responded to by the unknown. It happens when your efforts are from the heart and done with innocense. That is the way of spirit. It has unlimited resources. They come from within and without in equal measure.
The Breathwalk program attunes you to that reality within you. It useds an advanced breathing pattern. Use more basic Breathwalks first. If you master it gradually, it can change your life in amazing ways.

Sandra’s comments:
"Actually, having prepared the handouts in paperform, I walked down to the printers to have them laminated and I found a 5-pound note on the pavement on the way (about 200 meters from my place to the printers)!! Amazing!"

Sarah's comments:
"When Sandra asked me if I would like to take part in the breath walk I was very happy. Partly because I had been experiencing some difficult times in my private life and I felt I needed some clearing and energy. I attended the breath walk on a beautiful Autumn day. The sun was out but there was that slight chill in the air. We began the breath walk with some warm ups and then started the meditations. During the Breath Walk I felt like I could completely let go and place my trust in Sandra, I was able to really submerge myself in the meditations without worrying about where I was going or what was going on around me. Sandra made me feel very safe. Toward the end of the breath walk Sandra told me to open my vision and look around me, to take in everything, far and near. I found this very powerful and felt I was seeing some things for the first time in a very long time. It felt amazing. After the breath walk I felt very energised and uplifted. I felt light and extremely calm. I felt truly energised all through the next few days. I would love to do more of these, and highly recommend everyone to try them. Thank you Sandra for sharing this with me!"

Sandra’s comments: I used it when I had a few unresolved pending issues that seemed to have an impact on my mood – not even very important unresolved issues, just niggling ones. The breathwalk done just once really improved my mood to deal with these things and stay with it – with a smile!

Sandra's comments: "There is a smooth feeling in your energy body after the walk, like silk."

Sukhi's comments:
"I felt the breathwalk was a meditative experience and I felt quite soothed and smooth afterwards. I felt quite connected and centred too."

Sandra's comments:
"I walked this program when I was in Germany with my parents, I had a strong cold, felt like just lying around with utter boredom - a lethargic feeling, I just could not motivate myself. After only one breathwalk my joy for new projects returned and I was motivated!"

Sandra’s comments (spiritual abundance breathwalk):
"Actually, having prepared the handouts in paperform, I walked down to the printers to have them laminated and I found a 5-pound note on the pavement on the way (about 200 meters from my place to the printers)!! Amazing!"
